We are dedicated to producing top quality AKC Miniature Schnauzer puppies with excellent health, temperament and intelligence for family companions.

You will find that the typical well-bred Miniature Schnauzer makes an excellent companion because they are extremely obedient and quick to learn, is devoted, playful and affectionate. Their alertness makes them an excellent guard dog. They are spunky and fearless but not aggressive so that they can run with other dogs.

They are as much at home in the city with a small amount of exercise as they are in the country where they appears tireless. And, they easily adapt to any change of condition or climate. Their deepest need, however, is to live as a part of the family, going where they go, doing what they do. Sleeping on the bed, or in his own, beside their owner is their great joy. The Miniature Schnauzer does not shed, so they often can be enjoyed by persons who are allergic to other breeds of dogs. In return, the owner must keep them groomed to maintain their handsome appearance.

The Miniature Schnauzer is a breed that is originally from Germany.  It is believed to have been started by breeding the standard schnauzer to smaller breeds such as the affenpinscher, poodle, and/or miniature pinscher.  It is from these crosses while developing the breed that the colors white and black/silver came about.

The most common colors for miniature schnauzers are salt/pepper and black, with black/silver and white becoming more common.  All these colors can be registered with any one of the Kennel Clubs such as the  American Kennel Club.  When you hear that the color white is not *recognized* by a particular kennel club, all that means is that it cannot be shown in conformation shows.  It is still a registered purebred, and can be shown in other events such as obedience, agility, etc.  The white variety of Miniature Schnauzer is not an albino Schnauzer, it is simply a white colored variety. The genes that make this variety of Schnauzer white have no affect on type and character, so these dogs are as lovely as the other Schnauzers we have all grown to love. Other than the white color, all of the other AKC standards for the Miniature Schnauzer apply to the white Schnauzer.

The average size of a miniature schnauzer is 12-14 inches, and the weight tends to average 14-20 pounds.  Their life expectancy is about 15 years if properly cared for.  The Miniature Schnauzer is a robust, active dog of terrier type, resembling his larger cousin, the Standard Schnauzer, in general appearance, and of an alert, active disposition. They usually have a docked tail, and ears can be either cropped to stand erect, or as is becoming more common, hang naturally.   We feel the schnauzer has a more stately look with the ears cropped but  natural ears are much more expressive, and they give a much more  softer appearance to the face.  The mini is a relatively small dog, and a  wonderful companion for both young and old alike. They do not shed but, they do require regular grooming.  They should be clipped every four weeks.  Their leg furnishings should be brushed several times a week to prevent matting.  Nails should be trimmed every two weeks at least.  We recommend that you brush your dogs teeth every day with a special doggy toothbrush and toothpaste.  This will prevent future dental problems.
